Rancho Nicasio outdoor West Marin wedding

Country music, bbq and a beautiful view onto the golden hills of West Marin? Yes please :) Elliott and Kelsey got married at the scenic Rancho Nicasio, which is a fantastic venue that is perched right in Nicasio valley. Just less than an hour from San Francisco, you feel like you’re much further away from any city. I loved the pure joy these two had with one another! Also, this wedding had LOTS of great shoes… you’ll see :) Congrats Elliott and Kelsey! <3

Michelle and Andrew at The City Club of San Francisco

Michelle and Andrew were like giddy teenagers - so in love - and so excited to be marrying one another! This elegant wedding erupted in song, as Michelle and her besties busted out “Going to the Chapel of Love” while getting ready. Andrew’s childhood pals teased him just the right amount, while also quoting Rilke. Thank you for sharing your special day with me, lovebirds!

“A complete sharing between two people is an impossibility and whenever it seems, nevertheless, to exist, it is a narrowing, a mutual agreement which robs either one member or both of his fullest freedom and development. But, once the realization is accepted that, even between the closest human beings, infinite distances continue to exist, a wonderful living side by side can grow up, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole and against a wide sky!” Rainer Maria Rilke

San Francisco City Hall Wedding on the Mayor's Balcony

These two <3 So much joy, so much love! And also, white Keds! Alex and Maddie got married on the Mayor’s Balcony at San Francisco City Hall, which is a great choice when you want to invite more guests, have your own officiant, and recite your own vows. Thank you Alex and Maddie for having me document your commitment to one another!

San Francisco City Hall wedding with marigolds

Marigold + mint bouquet, gold sneakers, scarves, dancing… this wedding had so many sweet elements! In addition to growing their own bouquet, Bill and Katherine gifted their guests marigold seeds (I got some, too!) which connects their special day to future blooms in the gardens of their community. In addition, marigolds are good companion plants: they protect a wide variety of plants from pests and harmful weeds. If you plant a marigold beside most any garden vegetable, that vegetable will be healthier. What a lovely metaphor.

San Francisco City Hall wedding with Ted and Raz

It was hard not to jump for joy along with these two lovebirds! Ted and Raz traveled from Hong Kong to San Francisco City Hall to marry one another. They are hoping that marriage equality becomes the norm everywhere (amen) But until then, they decided to commit to one another in glorious San Francisco, the first of their friends to do so. Ted and Raz, congratulations on your happy day, and I look forward to your wedding party in Thailand next year!

Fay Park wedding with photos in North Beach and the San Francisco Art Institute

I had so much fun bopping around the city with Angela and KB! Their elegant and simple wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Fay Park, which is close to North Beach and Russian Hill, both of which have lots of great backdrops for photos. The food at Gioia Pizzeria was absolutely incredible, and we even found a pizza wall painting during our photo session at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Golden Gate Club wedding at the Presidio

While it may have been a foggy summer day in San Francisco, this wedding at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio was full of warmth. Stefano and Jessica created a beautiful celebration of their international love. Italy was represented with the wondrous Con Te Partiro by Andrea Bocelli for their first dance, and Prince's 1999 got all of the Americans and Italians dancing. Neither of them seemed too nervous by their friends' choice of folding chairs(!) to hoist them up during the hora... (I must admit, I was a bit nervous) Mazel tov and Evviva gli sposi, Jessica and Stefano!

Dreams on a Dime did the event planning, Blackbird films did videography. Food by Delicious! Catering

San Francisco City Hall wedding with Classic Cable Car tour to Fort Point and Baker Beach

A perfect spring day graced this wedding that began at San Francisco City Hall and adventured around the city in a Classic Cable Car, stopping at Fort Point and Baker Beach. What is better than dancing on a trolley car, drinking Veuve Clicquot while simultaneously taking in the view of the Golden Gate Bridge? Not much! Felicitations à Anna et Rabea!

Wedding in the Austrian Alps

Marcus and Lisa got married at a small church in the village of Kals am Großglockner, a town at the base of the tallest mountain in Austria in east Tyrol. This wedding blended traditional elements with modern sophistication, as the guests and wedding party stayed at the hip Gradonna Mountain Resort surrounded by the glorious mountains. I never knew lederhosen could look so good! According to my informal poll, the majority of Austrians have never seen "The Sound of Music" - but the hills were definitely alive for this one!

San Francisco City Hall wedding with chihuahuas

This wedding party included furry friends! Jillian and Matthew brought along their kids, by which I mean their dogs. They dressed up for the fun, and I was equal parts laughing and barking (to get the dog's attention) I love shoots like this!

Dress by BHLDN. Jewelry was hand designed by Brooklyn designer Emily Amey, bracelet by Mikimoto. Matt’s suit was Cifonelli, shoes were Allen Edmonds. Hair by Huy at Revamp Salon;  Doggie outfits by PetcoNot just Flowers in the Castro did the bouquet and Matt’s boutonnière.

Glen Ellen Sonoma backyard poolside wedding

I had serious fashion envy at this gorgeous Sonoma County wedding; from the Mr. Turk suits to the guest's colorful bowties, this wedding was a dream! Chris and David were full of heart and smiles; their joy and love were absolutely contagious. The ceremony was outside by the pool, with a stunning view of Sonoma valley. After cocktail hour the dinner reception moved to a bocce ball court amidst the vines.Christopher Lee at Taste Catering styled the wedding to perfection. Swoon!
